About Azure Developer Stories
The goal of the initiative is to skill developers to learn new technologies on MS Learn and write technical blogs, articles or video content with demos & code samples sharing their experiences while building on Azure. The stories help other developers across the globe to scale in building solutions on Azure.
Our motto is to make a difference in the developer ecosystem across India by helping developers knowledge-share within the community.
Let’s take a sneak peek 👀 from Azure Developer Stories v1
The first Azure Developers Stories was organised in 2020. That year, we received 80 valid blog posts — an amazing response for the contest. The submissions were really good — every story was unique and excellent in their own way. Hence, it was challenging for the reviewing team to rate and select the winners from excellent submissions!
The reviewing team considered many factors including technical depth, real-time use case/relevance of project, storytelling/documentation clarity, and code samples on GitHub with ReadMe. The top 3 winners deserved the prizes because their blogs clearly stood out amidst the tough competition.
Taking it to 📈 level-next in Azure Developer Stories v2
In 2021, we divided the contest submissions into three categories:
- Python
- .NET
- NodeJS
Doing so helped submissions cater to developers working in different languages. Alongside, we also arranged for Microsoft Azure Learn materials to help the participants get started or take their skills to the next level.
And the result was a total of 90+ valid submissions!
Five reviewers, who are seasoned Azure experts, scrutinised the blogs to pick our stellar winners! They dug deep into the content & material submitted by the contestants to come up with our final set of winners.

- Azure App Service
- Azure Cognitive Service
- Azure Functions
- Azure Kubernetes Service

Also, we ensured that all the participants took something home by providing them with Azure Certification Exam vouchers. This helped them to take the certification exam and go to the next level.

How do these blogs & the contest help the community?
These blogs are written by experts, so developers can learn about the use-case scenarios and go through different sample code examples and try them out. As the name of the contest indicates, these blogs are written in a story format. It results in engaging content and developers learn from each others experiences.
We are glad that Azure Developer Stories serves as a platform for tech bloggers to showcase their work. The prizes and the recognition they get from the contest motivates them to write more blogs & encourages knowledge sharing. You can go through the submitted stories and learn & upskill on Azure.
